The next time you visit Hawrah station, you may be able to book Uber cab without the internet connectivity as Uber (an App-cab company) has partnered with Eastern Indian Railway to help travelers to book cabs through booking zones at Howrah station.
Why This Alliance?
“Howrah is one of the busiest stations in India, making it difficult for travellers to book easy rides and since most people may not have internet connection as soon as they reach Howrah, this initiative will help them enjoy their ride right through the Uber booking zones,” said Arpit Mundra, general manager, Uber Kolkata.
Adding to this, Arpit Mundra said, “We have already executed several partnerships with public transit agencies to facilitate travelers with the better experience. We are encouraged with this collaborative step from Eastern Railway and we hope this proves to be an effective step.”
Currently, an Uber is booked close to 8,000 times a week at Howrah Indian railway station and this collaborative step with Eastern Indian Railways will allow the company to facilitate many more commuters to reach their destinations the most comfortable way possible.
