At least eight people died and 10 others sustained injuries after a truck collided with a stationary vehicle carrying devotees in Haryana’s Jind district, according to police reports on Tuesday.
Inspector Kuldeep, the station house officer of Sadar Narwana, stated that the injured individuals were transported to medical facilities in Jind and Agroha, located in Hisar district, for necessary treatment.
The devotees were on a journey from Kurukshetra district, intending to visit a temple in Gogamedi, Rajasthan, when the unfortunate accident took place.
“The truck rammed into the light commercial vehicle in which the group of devotees was headed to Gogamedi. At the time of the incident, the devotees had taken a brief halt and their vehicle was stationary,” the SHO said.
“Eight people, including two women and a teenager, have died in the incident while ten are injured. The injured are out of danger,” he said.
