Today, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team will reveal who will captain them in the 2025 Indian Premier League. Before selecting Rajat Patidar, who is now leading the race for captaincy, RCB management reportedly conferred with a number of experienced players.
Faf du Plessis captained RCB in the 2024 Indian Premier League, but the team did not keep him on board or buy him back at auction. According to a recent update, RCB is now supporting Rajat Patidar, despite early predictions that Virat Kohli might return as captain. The team has not decided whether to reinstate Kohli as captain despite talks between him and the management.
Krunal Pandya, who has excelled with his leadership abilities and is still a part of their leadership strategy, was also taken into consideration by the management. The new captain will be announced by RCB Director of Cricket Mo Bobat and Head Coach Andy Flower during a press conference set for 11:30 AM today. Dinesh Karthik, the batting coach and team mentor, is also probably going to be there. Star Sports will carry the event live.
