BYD Sealion 7 Launch 2025: Build Your Dreams (BYD), a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has formally introduced the BYD Sealion 7, its fourth electric vehicle, to the Indian market. At the most recent Auto Expo, the SUV was on display, and reservations had already begun. This SUV, which has a strong battery pack and a stylish look, starts at ₹48.9 lakh ex-showroom.
1,000 Cars Already Booked
BYD disclosed that around 1,000 units of this SUV have already been reserved in addition to the pricing announcement. Delivery is scheduled to start on March 7. Additional perks for customers who reserve the car by February 17 include a free 7kW AC charger and a 7-year/150,000 km guarantee, whichever comes first.
Design and Appearance
In terms of headlamps and linked tail lamps, the BYD Sealion 7’s coupe-style SUV design is identical to that of the BYD SEAL sedan. A more aggressive SUV-like appearance has been applied to the front and rear bumpers. The vehicle has a wheelbase of 2930 mm and a length of 4.8 meters.
The performance version has 20-inch alloy wheels, while the premium grade has 19-inch ones. It looks elegant and coupe-like thanks to its tapering roofline and flush-type door handles. The SUV comes in four different colours: Shark Grey, Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White.
Interior and Cabin Features
Similar to other BYD models, the SUV’s interior features a 15.6-inch spinning touchscreen infotainment system. Additional features include a heads-up display, a 50W wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof with a sunshade, ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a floating instrument cluster, a powered tailgate, connected car technology and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, which enables the car’s battery to power external devices like laptops.
Battery and Range
The blade battery pack of the BYD Sealion 7 has a capacity of 82.5 kWh. According to MIDC specifications, the performance model has a range of 542 km, while the premium variant has a range of 567 km. When the back seats are folded, the boot’s 580-liter capacity may be increased to 1,789-liters. A 58-liter front trunk (frunk) is also included.
Safety Features
With 11 airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, the SUV places a high priority on safety. A 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, disc brakes on all wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, driver attentiveness warning, and cross-traffic alert are further safety features.
Warranty and Service
A free 7kW charger, one free inspection, and six years of roadside assistance are included with the BYD Sealion 7. There is a 6-year/150,000-kilometer warranty on the low-voltage battery. With an anticipated 15-year lifespan, this LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery is six times lighter than conventional low-voltage batteries.
