In India, the amount of COVID-19 infections and associated fatalities is climbing fast. This is the situation that has prompted the testing (RT-PCR) of all ministers who are to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by mandatory testing by government sources quoting media reports.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country has risen to 7,121 as of now. Over 300 new cases have been announced in the last 24 hours alone. Kerala tops the list of active cases with 2,223 cases, Gujarat comes second with 1,223, Delhi is third with 757, and West Bengal fourth with 747 positive patients.
The Health Department announced that there have been 74 deaths because of the new variant of the coronavirus. Six deaths were reported on Tuesday, 3 in Kerala, 2 in Karnataka and 1 in Maharashtra.
More than 3,000 new cases have been registered in the past 10 days and 40 people have died. The nation is reporting over 350 new cases per day.
According to the Health Minister of Kerala, the new strain of the coronavirus is especially threatening to the people aged above 60 and those with underlying health conditions. All the hospitals within the state have been directed to examine the patients who show symptoms such as cold, cough, and breathing problems regarding the COVID-19 disease.
