Approximately 20 hours after the car blast, the Ministry of Home Affairs has given the investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The blast took place on the evening of 10 November at 6.52 PM at the gate number one of Lal Qila (Red fort) Metro station.
The number of people who died in the blast has increased to 12 of which two are women, and 20 are undergoing treatment due to injuries. Two bodies have been identified, and the rest would be clarified with the help of DNA tests.
Footage taken by the CCTV of the white i20 car which was used in the blast was released on Tuesday, which captured a man in a black mask sitting in the car as it left the parking lot of the metro station.
The police identified the man in the car as a Pulwama resident by the name of Dr. Mohammad Umar Nabi. According to the police sources, Umar blew himself up. The DNA verification is being verified by arresting his mother and two brothers in Pulwama by the Kashmir Police. In the meantime, his friend, a doctor, Sajjad of Pulwama, has also been detained by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Preliminary investigations indicated that ammonium nitrate, fuel and detonators were used during the explosion in the preliminary investigations as reported by news agency PTI.
