Haryana leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday said BJP had become so nervous of an imminent defeat in the assembly elections that it had started constantly making baseless announcements which could not implement on the ground.
He said the announcement of giving MSP on all crops was also one of them.
The former CM said while announcing MSP on all crops, BJP govt of Haryana even forgot MSP was announced by central govt.“It is not in the jurisdiction of state govt. State govt also announced MSP for 15 crops which are not grown in Haryana,” he said.
“The truth is that the central govt has not mentioned MSP guarantee anywhere in this year’s budget, nor has it made any provision for it. On what basis is the state govt making such an announcement,” he questioned.
“If the BJP is even slightly serious about MSP, central govt should immediately bring a bill in Parliament as per the announcement made by the Congress, which should have a provision for MSP guarantee. The attempt to mislead farmers will not succeed,” he added. Hooda said BJP had made farmers yearn for MSP during its entire tenure.
