Wedding is said to be a beautiful union whereby the groom and the bride exchange vows that they will stick together forever. However, there was a wedding in Pratapgarh in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India which became a dramatic event.
In a video now going viral, the bride marched on to the stage, took a hold of the hand of the groom whereupon she suddenly drew out a gun and fired into the air. The video is also gaining pace in social media where the spectators are responding in disbelief and shock.
A ‘Grand’ Entry with a Bang
The stage in the viral video is very well adorned with lights and flowers. The groom is waiting and his nervousness can be observed on his face whereas his gazes are locked on the entrance. It starts with music and the bride enters dramatically dressed in a red bridal lehenga and decked up in jewellery with a smile on her face that leads to the stage.
As all people are gazing with adoration at her beauty, then all of a sudden something outrageous occurs.
From Holding Hands to Firing in the Air
Then the bride ascends the stage saying upon reaching top, she clasps the hand of the groom with one of her hands, with the other she draws forth a little pistol (country-made firearm), and draws, firing into the air. The gunshot alarms the people in the wedding. Others laugh and move away but some immediately start recording the scene in their phones.
Outrage on Social Media
The video has created an impressive controversy in the internet. The clip has been seen by Instagram, Facebook and Twitter users millions of times.
As one of the users wrote, such people should not be permitted to have weapons.
The other one replied, “And the person who gave her the gun must also be accountable too.”
And a third party commentator posted, this is the shame of a bride. It made the wedding a bone of contention.”
Wedding or Stunt Show?
The response of the groom is also going viral, one can see his face filled with shock and care. Several of the users ridiculed the video by saying it looked like a movie scene and not a real wedding scene.
As much as the clip has been entertaining people, there is a more serious question what people should ask themselves regarding whether the stunts should be carried at sacred events like weddings.
This video again raises the point that people will do anything to gain viral fame, including making the entire wedding event into an exhibition.
