Monday morning, a tragic incident took place in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh when a cloth merchant shot himself to death after his licensed revolver. The event produced shock waves in the region. On receipt of information, Kotwali Nagar police went to the scene and seized the dead body and sent it to the post-mortem examination.
The dead, Neeraj Jain, was a resident of the city of Laxmanpuri Colony and by birth an inhabitant of Sarawgi locality, according to reports. He was residing in a hired house. During the incident, Neeraj had been alone in the house. Neighbours rushed to the location when they heard the gunshot crash; they found him in his own pool of blood.
Debt and Financial Crisis was supposed to be the cause.
Neeraj Jain was a younger brother of Pawan alias Dabbhu Jain, who was a famous proprietor of Kalpana Saree Centre. Neeraj is reported to have been struggling with debts and money issues in his saree business and this could have been the motivation to do this extreme act.
The police were notified as quickly as possible and arrived at the scene where they were investigating. The corpse is undergoing post-mortem, and the revolver with which he committed the suicide has been taken away. Inspector Kotwali Sudhir Singh told that a thorough investigation was going on to ascertain the actual cause of the suicide.
