Gian Chand Gupta, senior BJP leader and party’s candidate for the Panchkula seat, on Wednesday described the Congress manifesto as “promises that can never be fulfilled”.
The Haryana assembly speaker said: “Just like the Congress, the Congress manifesto is also a lie.”
Gupta on Wednesday held public meetings at Sector 21, Sector 12, Sector 11 Geeta Mandir, Sector 8, Sector 19, Rajiv Colony, and MDC Sector 6, and asked the people to vote for a “developed” Haryana.
Gupta said the only meaning of the Congress was to “mislead the people by lying”. “The Congress formed the govt in Himachal Pradesh by lying. Today, the employees there are not even getting their salaries. The announcement of waiving of the farmers’ debt in Rajasthan was also not fulfilled. On the contrary, more than 4,000 farmers had to commit suicide,” he pointed out.
The BJP leader said the Congress party’s aim had always been to lie and lure the electorate with false promises, but the people of Haryana were aware of their motives and would not fall into the Congress’ trap.
The senior leader said there was a positive atmosphere for BJP and the people everywhere were extending support to the party.
The support of the people has increased the heartbeat of the opponents. The Congress candidate has already accepted defeat. The people of Panchkula know that Panchkula has developed in the last 10 years. In these 10 years, the BJP govt has provided facilities to every house, he said.
The aim of the Congress party is to grab power by lying and promote corruption and nepotism, whereas the BJP serves the people through power, Gupta added.
P’kula has suffered during BJP’s 10-year tenure: Cong
Chander Mohan, the Congress candidate for the Panchkula seat, said the people of the constituency were suffering because of the BJP “misrule” and the electorate would give a befitting reply to the saffron party on Oct 5.
Panchkula is in a bad state, Chander Mohan said while addressing the public meetings here. When the Congress party will come to power, every poor will get his due, people will get relief from inflation, he added.
The Congress candidate on Wednesday held public meetings in 14 villages of Barwala. A number of people also joined the Congress party during the campaign.
Chander Mohan said the poor condition of Panchkula exposed the claims of the BJP about the “10-years of excellence”. “People living in the constituency are well aware of the unprecedented development of the last 10-years. They know whether Panchkula has developed or the BJP leaders have developed. The people will answer this on Oct 5 by voting against the BJP,” he said.
The former deputy CM appealed to the people to vote in favour of the Congress for its pro-people policies.
Chander Mohan also addressed meetings in Sector 21, Billa, Jaswantgarh, Aasrewali, Belwali, Bungga, Tibbi, Sabilpur, Khetpurali, Dullopur, Rattewali, Nichla Bhanu, Bhanu and Moginand.
The Congress is a party of the poor and fulfills the promises it makes. The needs of the poor have been taken care of in the Congress manifesto so that the common people can be saved from the inflation that has reached its peak under the BJP rule, he said.
He also told the people that when the Congress would come to power, it would extend various benefits, including providing LPG cylinders for Rs 500, providing jobs to 2 lakh youth, and giving old age pension of Rs 6,000, to the people.
