A tragic accident that was experienced involved the Basantgarh locality within the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Not far off Kandwa area, a CRPF vehicle had an accident, as a result of which three CRPF men were killed and 15 others injured.
Udhampur Additional SP Sandeep Bhatt explained that the police became aware of the incident soon and performed a search and rescue operation before taking the casualties to the nearest hospital.
Indicating that a vehicle of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has gone out of control and fallen into a drain in Udhampur, government officials explained on Thursday that the accident occurred somewhere close to Kadwa. The specified accident took place at about 10:30 am when the troops were reported to Basantgarh after undertaking an operation. The vehicle was ferrying soldiers of the 187th battalion of paramilitary force.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted, saying, “Deeply saddened by the death of the CRPF personnel in Udhampur accident.” They will never be forgotten due to the excellent service they gave to the country. I sincerely mourn with the families that have lost their loved one. Praying that the injured would have fast treatment. Indeed senior officers have been directed to make sure there is best care and support.”
