Deepender Hooda raises issue of giving reservation to BCA in Vidhan Sabha, Lok Sabha

Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda on Thursday demanded provision of reservation be made for BCA category as per their population, on the lines of SC/ST to maintain social and political balance after the delimitation of Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha constituencies, under Rule 377 in Parliament.

He said that for this, it is very important to conduct caste census before delimitation, so that seats can be reserved in proportion to the population of BCA communities and political participation of BCA can increase in the democratic system. He demanded that after delimitation, the government should give political representation to BCA on the basis of caste census in Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha constituencies. He said it is necessary that some Vidhan Sabha, Lok Sabha seats should be reserved for them, on the lines of SC/ST.

MP Deepender Hooda said in Haryana, his home state, BCA communities are skilled and hardworking, and have made an important contribution in the development of the society. He said the number of BCA communities is quite large, and they live in every village, but they are not in majority in most of the constituencies, so it is very important to give them reservation.

“Under BCA, there are Kumhar Prajapati Samaj, Vishwakarma Samaj, Jangra Samaj, Panchal Samaj, Dhiman Samaj, Suthar Samaj; Many communities like Swarnakar Soni Samaj, Jogi Samaj, Dhobi Samaj, Kashyap Samaj, Pal Gadaria Samaj, Teli Samaj, Kamboj Samaj, and others come under the BCA category. In other states, they are known as extremely backward classes as landless traditional craftsmen, artisans, artists,” he said.
