Investigations against him under PMLA were initiated by Enforcement Directorate after Punjab Police cracked his network and arrested quite a few members of his network. In a 2005, a chargesheet was filed against him. The court also ordered to confiscate properties mentioned by ED, which he acquired with proceeds from drug trade. In Dec last year, the same court had acquitted 14 accused on the grounds that prosecution could not prove its case against them beyond doubt. Dismissed police inspector Inderjit Singh, who was later arrested by special task force (STF) with drugs and firearms, was complainant and investigating officer in the case.
