Auction of registration numbers for the newly launched vehicle registration series — CH01CV — was completed on Monday. CH01CV-0001 fetched the highest bid and was sold for a whooping amount of Rs 24.3 lakh. CH01CV-0009 and CH01CV-0007 numbers of the new series got second and third highest bids, fetching Rs 10.43 lakh and Rs 9.35 lakh for Registering and Licensing Authority of the Chandigarh administration.The authority earned Rs 2.4 crore in total from the auction.
The office of RLA conducted the e-auction of vehicle registration numbers (fancy and choice) of new series from vehicle numbers 0001 to 9999. Besides the new series, the left-over fancy registration numbers of previous vehicle series were also put up for auction.
“The auction was held for three days from July 13 to 15. A total of 601 registration numbers were auctioned during the period, fetching Rs 2.4 crore”, the RLA said.
Surprising, the RLA had received 40 applicants for CH01CV-0009 registration number. Besides, there were 35 bidders for CH01CV-0007 and 32 showed interest for CH01CV-0005 registration number. For the CH01CV-0001, the authority had received a total 29 bids.
For 0001, the RLA had fixed Rs 50,000 reserve price for interested bidders. For other numbers, the authority had fixed a reserve price ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 30,000.
