An instance of rape and fraud has been brought to light in Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh, where a young woman was duped and raped. The woman got caught by a married man who was pretending to be an excise inspector and also the man was a Haryanan. He took a physical relationship with her by pledging to marry her. This is not all, he had defrauded her thousands of rupees. A case has been registered by the police and an investigation has started into this incident of the Himachal Pradesh news.
Trapped Her Through Instagram Friendship
According to the victim to the police, the accused had initially contacted her in February. He began to communicate with her via Instagram and WhatsApp. The accused fabricated that he was an excise inspector and demonstrated to her marriage dreams. In the process, he drained her of a lot of money.

The woman moved this money through her SBI and bank of India accounts.
Called Her to Dharamshala and Exploited Her
On 24 October 2025, the accused visited Dharamshala to see the woman. There he reiterated his fake promise of getting married and had the physical relationship with her. Afterward, the woman found out that he was married and had a child. When she approached him the alleged blocked her path everywhere.
Police Take Action Based on Evidence
The woman provided the police with evidence in form of photos, chat messages, and call recordings. The incident was verified by Kangra ASP Bir Bahadur Singh. He claimed that there is a case registered at the Dharamshala police station. Soon the accused will be arrested by the police. There is also good evidence of bank transactions by the woman.
