During the monthly district public relations and grievance redressal committee meeting in Kurukshetra on Friday, Haryana transport and women and child minister Aseem Goel ordered suspension of executive engineer of the electricity department. The action has been taken against executive engineer following allegations of improper behaviour with the complainants during the ongoing meeting.
Show cause notices have also been issued to another engineer of the electricity department and district excise and taxation collector (DETC) of the excise department, for remaining absent from the grievance redressal meeting without permission.
The meeting took place at the new mini secretariat of Kurukshetra district, in which, nine out of 14 complaints on agenda were redressed on the spot. In the remaining 5 complaints, the officials concerned have been asked to submit a report before the next meeting. The minister also heard 28 complaints out of the agenda, which were mostly resolved.
Minister Aseem Goel said, “Regarding all the complaints received from his (executive engineer) department, he always failed to give satisfactory responses. His body language and way of talking were inappropriate for the public, even in front of the chair. He was misbehaving with the public in front of me. Public is God for us and it is not right to harass them, therefore, he has been suspended.”
On this occasion, Haryana urban local bodies minister Subhash Sudha, Kurukshetra DC Sushil Sarwan, SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa and others were present.
