Sarabjot Singh — “feeling very good” after a wonderful journey at Paris Olympics — has set sights on a gold at the 2028 Games already, having taken note of things he can work upon.

On Friday, the bronze medalist in 10m air pistol mixed team at Paris Olympics reached Dheen village in Haryana’s Ambala district, where he was welcomed with a shower of flower petals amid drum beats and bursting of crackers by his family, villagers and fans.

On his arrival at home, Sarabjot took blessings from his parents Harjeet Kaur and Jitender Singh and hugged them. The villagers welcomed Sarabjot with garlands and money while they danced to their heart’s content. “I feel good the way I was welcomed home and at the airport. Earlier, I won gold in the Asian Games, but it is a better feeling to have won a medal in the Olympics. I credit my achievement to my family, my coach, Sports Authority of India and others who supported me,” he said.

About his journey at the Paris Olympics, Sarabjot said he was working hard to reach the Olympics, adding, “I felt some improvement is required for the next time. I target a gold medal in the 2028 Olympics. It was a tough journey and I will work more for the next Olympics. The PM was supportive.”
