‘I am enough to defeat Tandon’ Claims Manish Tewari
Manish Tewari, INDIA bloc candidate from Chandigarh, on Thursday took a dig at BJP candidate Sanjay Tandon, stating that Tandon was “insignificant” for Kharge and Rahul Tewari was replying to Tandon’s recent remark, wher he had highlighted that neither Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge nor former president Rahul Gandhi had come to Chandigarh to campaign for Tewari.
“I am enough to defeat him. Mr Tandon will need at least two terms in the parliament to qualify for the attention of Mr Kharge and Mr Gandhi,” Tewari said, while adding, “He (Tandon) seems to have quite an exaggeratedly ambitious opinion about himself that will get deflated on June 4”.
Meanwhile, addressing a series of public meetings in various localities of the Union Territory, Tewari listed various guarantees of his party and the alliance, challenging the BJP to count one single guarantee that will directly benefit the poor. He claimed that after a alliance govt is formed on June 4, it will double free ration from 5 kgs to 10 kgs, besides it will start paying every poor family Rs 8,500 every month. “Note down the date, July 1, 2024, and this will start happening,” he asserted.
