In Barnala, Punjab Cm Bhagwant Mann Says Will Hire 3k Anganwadi Workers

A newly-appointed woman supervisor in the social security, women and child development department ties a rakhi to chief minister Bhagwant Mann in Barnala on Saturday

BARNALA: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said his govt will recruit 3,000 anganwadi workers and helpers and a bill to create new posts of anganwadi workers and clear the recruitment process will be brought during the upcoming assembly session.
He claimed that women will also be recruited as firefighters. Mann was presiding over a state-level function to mark Raksha Bandhan, organised by state govt’s social security, women and child development department in Barnala on Saturday.

The CM said his govt was also actively and sympathetically considering the demands of ASHA workers. Speaking about actions being taken to empower women, he said six districts had women as SSPs and eight districts had women as DCs.

The CM urged youth to not move abroad in search of green pastures, but work hard at home.

“I had promised in the past that reverse migration will be witnessed in the state and it is heartening to see that the desired results have started coming to fore. Youth are becoming active partners in socio-economic progress of the state. It is on record that educational institutions in the state are now witnessing a surge in admissions as migration is stopping,” he said.

Baljit Kaur and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer highlighted the achievements of AAP govt and its contribution in raising Punjab centric issues in Lok Sabha.
