Police on Tuesday registered a criminal case against a 50-year-old man who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl after he called her to his home on the pretext of showing her a mobile phone.
The accused — who is yet to be arrested — is from the same family as the rape survivor and used to call him tau (uncle). Hisar Police said the women’s police station has registered a case on a complaint by the survivor’s mother against a man under sections 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 64(2)(F)(rape being a relative), 64(2)(M) (repeated rape on same woman) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.In the complaint to police, the survivor’s mother said she came to know of the crime when she asked the child about injuries on her private parts.
