The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) on Wednesday extended the last date for ticket applications to Aug 10 even as more than 2,000 aspirants have applied for their candidature so far ahead of the elections to the 90-member Haryana assembly.
HPCC chief Udai Bhan said that the date has been extended to “give opportunity to more and more leaders”.
According to the information, at least 10 applications have been received from aspirants for general and women seats while maximum applications have come from those seeking candidature from constituencies reserved for SCs. “Everybody is looking forward to the Congress as an alternative in Haryana,” a party spokesman said.
