Railway Bridge Collapsed in Mizoram: In a shocking incident on Wednesday, at least 26 workers lost their lives after a construction platform at railroad bridge being built in Mizoram collapses. many workers got injured in the incident.
The construction of a railway bridge being built across a ravine Bhairbi-Sairang New Line Railway Project in India’s northeastern Mizoram state has failed miserably when the bridge collapsed, resulting in the death of at least 26 labourers working on the project, claimed said. Some other workers are still reported missing.
Railway Bridge Collapsed in Mizoram:
According to media reports, over workers were at the site when the bridge collapsed. However, police claimed that only 28 workers were present.
Till now, over 13 bodies have been recovered by rescue workers. Efforts are on to recover the remaining bodies,” said a state police official.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) claimed that the mishap occurred during work on the Bhairbi-Sairang New Line Railway Project.
