To celebrate Sarabjot Singh’s achievement at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, his father Jatinder Singh remained at his shooting academy in Ambala Cantonment in Haryana throughout the day after he received the information about his bronze medal.
Twenty-three-year-old Sarabjot, son of a farmer from Dheen village in Ambala district, and Manu Bhaker (22) won bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics.
This is the biggest achievement for Sarabjot in his shooting career, which has cheered the entire Ambala region and his family back home.
Jatinder said, “Sarabjot started shooting in 2013. The first medal that he won was a bronze at the national level in Pune in 2016. Then he joined a shooting academy in Ambala Cantonment in 2016.” After winning gold in Asian Games last year, Sarabjot had set his eyes on the Olympics and now, he secured a bronze, says his father.
His coach Abhishek Rana had said that they were fully prepared for contesting in the Olympics.
