The Rajkot district has exposed a shocking case in which one of the sons had allegedly commissioned the murder of his father because he wanted to go abroad and the promise of money. In order to commit the murder, he allegedly gave his cousin 1 lakh rupees as a contract. Both the accused have been arrested by the police as they have discovered the truth.
The accident occurred on 9 December 2025. The murder of 50-year-old Kanabhai Jog of the outskirts of Chareliya village in the Upleta taluka of the Rajkot distirct was reported to the police. First, the niece of the deceased, Virm Jog informed the police that his uncle died in a road accident. He alleged that Kanabhai was in an accident on his way to Dhank village and that he died on the way when transporting him to the fields.
But the police were suspicious at first of the story. The crime scene, statements and circumstances were not in tandem with each other. As such a suspicion, the police initiated more in-depth investigation and the truth started to surface in the near future.
Daughter’s complaint and investigation expose the conspiracy
Concerns arose and the 22-year-old daughter of the deceased, Devi Jog, filed a complaint against her cousin Virm Jog at Bhayavadar Police Station under the provisions of the ICP 103(1), 217(B), and so on. In the process of police interrogation, Virm had a breakdown and admitted the whole murder plot.
He made it known that the conspiracy was arranged by the son of the deceased, Ramde Jog. He had commissioned the killing and had paid 1 lakh of ₹s as a guarantee. He even promised to feed Virm till he dies.
Murder planned for Israel job dreams and insurance money
During police investigation, it was revealed that Ramde Jog was 25 years old, who wanted to go to Israel to work and required around 16 lakh to carry the process out. He had invested in an HDFC life insurance policy in the name of his father, approximately one year before, and that would give him 60-70 lakh of money in case of the death of his father. He was greedy, hence he made the decision to kill the father. He then persuaded his cousin Virm to do the murder and briefed him about the whole thing.
Poison attempt failed, then killed with an axe
Under the plan, on 8 December, Virm had prepared a cold beverage by adding pesticide and insecticide to it, and gave it to Kanabhai. But Kanabhai suddenly vomited and the poison was thrown off, sparing his life. Ramde then instructed Virm to axe his father to death.
Kanabhai go to the fields on a bike with Virm on 9 December, was provided with alcohol and made to sleep in a room. He then struck him on the head with an axe, and killed him. Following the murder, the two accused had managed to come up with a false narrative that Kanabhai had been killed in a road carnage.
Conspiracy exposed, both accused arrested
Due to thorough investigation and interrogation, the whole conspiracy was revealed. Bhayavadar police have captured both the son, Ramde Jog, and the cousin, Virm Jog. The police are currently examining the insurance policy and financial transactions and other related issues of the incident.
