Technical hitch in Delhi Airport, 300 flights postponed

On Friday, over 300 flights were postponed in Delhi Airport because of a technical fault in Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. News agency PTI reported that the issue started on Thursday evening and since that time the air controllers cannot access flight schedules.

Air traffic controllers are in the process of working manually. It is reported that the problem is in Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) which gives flight schedules with takeoff and landing information.

Flight schedules are being prepared manually by the ATC officials with the help of previously saved data. This led to a delay of a number of flights of approximately an hour. Flightradar24.com flight tracking site reveals that up to 513 flights were also delayed on Thursday.

Delhi Airport and airlines warnings.

Flight operations have been slow, and as such, the Delhi Airport Authority and big airlines such as Akasa Air, Air India, SpiceJet, and IndiGo have made flight warnings to passengers. They explained that there are delays in the flight operations and passengers should continue checking on the flight-related updates.
