Three Terrorist Killed for Involvement in Pahalgam Attack: Amit Shah Informs Lok Sabha

On Tuesday, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India, told the Lok Sabha that on Monday terrorists who murdered 26 tourists in Baisaran Valley were killed.

According to him, three terrorists Suleiman, Faizal Afghan and Jibran were killed during operation Mahadev. Suleiman was a Lashkar-e-Taiba leader, and there is great evidence to this fact. The terrorists included Afghanistan and Jibran who were Category-A terrorists. The three have participated in the Pahalgam assault and all are deceased.

It was earlier revealed that these three terrorists names. Shah also reported there were two persons who gave aid to the terrorists and they have been identified and caught.

Details of the Operation:

On April 23 during a security meeting, a decision was arrived at to ensure that the attackers do not escape to Pakistan. Powerful actions were undertaken.

May 22: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) received intelligence inputs and signals on the presence of the terrorists in Dachigam. The attempt to check this out was made during the days of May to July. Officers would manoeuvre through the area to detect signals even in harsh cold weather. The signals were confirmed on May 22.

Until July 22: Surveillance and verification in Dachigam was done continuously. Soldiers went to high altitude places to receive signals. On July 22, presence of terrorists was confirmed by sensors. The area was later on cordoned off by police and army and on July 28, the terrorists were killed.

Identification of Bodies: The identification of the bodies was done in three by three individuals at Srinagar. The police did not hurry over it and the identities were checked.

Ballistic Report Confirmed: Cartridges that were found on the ground were taken to FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) for testing. Three weapons; an American rifle and two AK-47 were retrieved after the terrorists were killed. The cartridges were of the same kind, which were used in the Pahalgam offensive.

Pakistani Made Chocolates Chocolates found: Shah also showed evidence in form of Pakistani made chocolates found in the pockets of terrorists. According to him, two terrorists had voter ID card of Pakistan which proved that they were Pakistani nationals.
