Jalandhar commissionerate police on Sunday held two drug peddlers, including a man from Himachal Pradesh, with heroin and opium. Commissioner of police Swapan Sharma said based on a tip-off, the police stopped a youth at a police naka in Bhode Saprai village and recovered 1.25 kg heroin from him.
Sharma said during his preliminary questioning, Manjit Singh of Umrewal village from Punjab’s Jalandhar district revealed that one of his accomplices was also involved in the drug racket.Acting on the information, another accused Jugraj Singh was arrested from Bhagsunaag in HP and 5.58 kg of opium was recovered from him.
