The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state on Thursday has arrested Anil Kumar Kathuria, Branch Manager ESIC dispensary, focal point Ludhiana for demanding a bribe of Rs 10000.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said this case has been registered against the said accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by Anuj Kumar, a resident of Dhandari Khurd, Ludhiana city on the Chief Minister’s Anti Corruption Action Line portal.
Giving more details he further informed that the complainant has informed in his complaint that the said Branch manager of ESIC Ludhiana had demanded bribe money of Rs 10000 for getting released pension to wife of his friend.
The spokesperson added that during verification of this complaint, the allegations levelled by the complainant have been found correct as the same have been supported by oral evidence as well as recording of conversation taken place between the complainant
and the accused.
He further added that in this regard a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered at VB police station Ludhiana range against the above mentioned accused and he would be produced in the competent court tomorrow.
