War of Words Between Haryana CM and LoP Sparks after RaGa Speech

Haryana CM Nayab Saini, who is also BJP’s state president, and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda were embroilled in a war of words over Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Parliament on Monday.

While Saini claimed that Gandhi lied about Agniveer scheme during his speech, Hooda said what he said was true. “Similarly, he (Gandhi) humiliated the institiution of Lok Sabha, chair of Speaker as well as sanctity of the House. He should reform himself for his conduct,” said Saini.

Saini raised the 1984 riots, saying that the Congress was mum on violence and abuse of women in West Bengal. “All this is nothing but an outcome of frustration of Congress and INDI Alliance for having failed a third time to form govt,” added Saini.

In a statement released to media, Hooda, who is also leader of opposition in Haryana assembly, said Agnipath Scheme was neither in favor of the country, nor in favour of army or youth. “Haryana is adversly affected by this scheme. Like Agnipath, Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRM) is playing with the future of youth of the state. Due to this, state has seen an unprecedented increase in unemployment as well as uncontrolled crime,” said Hooda.

He said instead of blaming Gandhi, BJP must set its house in order. “Else, people have already made up their mind to wipe out the party from Haryana,” he added.
