Delhi Next Chief Minister: It is anticipated that the new Delhi government would be sworn in on February 19 or 20. On February 17 or 18, the BJP legislative party meeting can take place. Nine of the 15 selected candidates for important positions, such as Speaker, Ministers, and Chief Minister, will be chosen from among the 48 BJP MLAs.

Key Names in Discussion:

There are a number of well-known candidates vying for the delhi next chief minister, but PM Modi and Amit Shah may still make an unexpected choice, as was the case in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. A closer look at the contenders and the reasons behind their attention is provided below:

Rekha Gupta

With three terms as a municipal councillor in the Delhi Municipal Corporation, Rekha Gupta is a first-time MLA from Shalimar Bagh with an RSS background.

Shikha Rai

Shikha Rai made a big political impact in Delhi by defeating Greater Kailash Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Parvesh Verma

Two-time MLA and two-time MP, Parvesh Verma is well-known for defeating Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi. Additionally, he is the son of Sahib Singh Verma, the former chief minister of Delhi.

Mohan Singh Bisht

Originally from Uttarakhand, this six-time MLA from the Pahari Rajput caste has been affiliated with the RSS from his time as a student.

Vijender Gupta

A member of the BJP’s national leadership, he was the head of the Delhi BJP and has served as an MLA three times.

Satish Upadhyay

A former Delhi BJP president and Brahmin leader, he was an MLA for one term.

Ashish Sood

The BJP’s in-charge for Goa and co-in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir, he is a rookie Member of Parliament.

Pawan Sharma

A Uttam Nagar MLA who has maintained a low profile but is still a candidate.

Delhi Next Chief Minister: The BJP started acting even before they formed the government. In accordance with Section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the President for permission to bring charges against AAP leader and former minister Satyendar Jain. Furthermore, prominent AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia may face additional legal issues as a result of the forthcoming Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report.
