For a woman and her husband, a police policeman, stopping traffic to produce social media content proved to be pricey. The police took action after the video went viral, suspending Constable Ajay Kundu and charging three people in connection with the March 23 incident.
Video Was Recorded at Gurdwara Light Point
Jyoti and her sister-in-law Pooja performed on the zebra crossing while filming a video at Sector-20, Gurdwara Light Point in Chandigarh. The video swiftly gained popularity after Jyoti posted it to her husband Ajay Kundu’s social media page.
Police Took Action After the Video Went Viral
After the video became viral, the police looked into it and discovered that Ajay Kundu had posted it from his social media account. Ajay was assigned to the Sector-19 Police Station in Chandigarh Police as a policeman.
The Chandigarh Police took the situation seriously and filed a case against Ajay Kundu at Sector-34 Police Station, suspending him. The two women who worked on the video, Jyoti and Pooja, were also the targets of lawsuits.
Traffic Blocking Turned Out to Be Expensive
According to the Chandigarh Police, it is illegal to obstruct public transport. Under IPC provisions, a case has been filed, and an investigation is still underway.
