“My daughter didn’t do anything wrong. I sent her and my bank colleague Sachin to collect payments because I wasn’t feeling well. However, she was publicly humiliated by several people,” the girl’s mother claimed.
They misjudged her, assaulted her, and mistreated her coworker. I’ll never be able to forgive them. My kid is unable to speak at the moment due to her unstable mental state. However, we want the offenders to face consequences.
Speaking up about the abuse her daughter endured, a mother from the Muzaffarnagar, Western Uttar Pradesh, area said these things.
In a Muzaffarnagar video that has gone viral, a group of guys publicly abuse a young woman wearing a burqa by removing her hijab and veil while they are filming the action. Additionally, the video depicts these individuals mistreating Sachin, a bank employee who was with her.
The event happened on April 12. Six persons have now been taken into custody by the local police in relation to the crime, and further suspects are being identified using the video footage.
The victim’s mother, who was clearly upset, talked about her financial difficulties and how she had to send her daughter in her place due to circumstances. She underlined how her daughter was singled out, assaulted, and had her veil taken away just for going to work in place of her mother and being with a man from a different community.
On April 12, after the video went viral, the victim complained to the police, who opened a case against unidentified people. Sartaj, Shadab, Mohammad Umar, Arsh, Shoaib, and Shami are the six accused who have been identified and taken into custody thus far. They all reside close to the victim’s relatives.
More arrests will be made shortly, according to DSP Raju Kumar Saab, who also said that attempts are on to identify the remaining people featured in the video.
Under articles 115(2), 352, 191(2), and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the police have brought charges. These have to do with crimes like molestation, riots, assault, and abuse.
