In a move towards women’s safety, Mohali police have identified 10 dark spots across the city where specialized vehicles will be stationed to assist women in distress.
Police aim to ensure that help reaches women, stuck at these spots, within 10 minutes of receiving a distress call.
SSP Deepak Pareek said, “We are implementing this measure to guarantee the safety of women during dark hours.We have identified 10 such dark spots where we will be stationing specialized police vehicles equipped with cameras. These locations will be easily accessible by women during distress calls.”
In addition to the specialized vehicles, Mohali police have also introduced four PCR motorcycles and two PCR cars as part of a pilot project.
