The fiancé of a Panchkula resident studying in Canada allegedly tortured her and her family members by threatening to share her lewd pictures and videos on social media. The accused allegedly demanded Rs 30 lakh to delete the pictures and videos.

A case has been registered. Pramod Kumar, a resident of Morni, told the police that after the engagement, his daughter’s Nidhi’s fiancé, Damanjot installed a mobile application in his daughter’s phone, which gave him access to her activities.
He said that Damanjot also sent messages to Nidhi’s friends on her behalf.
