Punjab Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Full and final list of winners

In a highly competitive Lok Sabha election with multiple contenders, Congress managed to retain its seven seats in Punjab, equaling its previous tally. However, the party experienced a notable decrease in vote share compared to the last election, receiving 35.43 lakh votes, which constituted 26.3% of the total votes, a decline from the 40.12% it secured in 2019.
Congress showcased its strength in the Malwa region, winning four seats: Ludhiana, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib (SC), and Patiala. In the Doaba region, the party secured one out of two seats, namely Jalandhar (SC), while in Majha, it emerged victorious in two constituencies, Gurdaspur and Amritsar.
Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi achieved a resounding victory in the Jalandhar constituency, securing the second-highest margin across the state with 1.76 lakh votes. Channi garnered 3,90,053 votes, representing 39.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. The party also clinched four other seats: Gurdaspur (Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa), Amritsar (Gurjeet Singh Aujla), Ludhiana, and Fatehgarh Sahib (Dr Amar Singh), with margins ranging from over 20,000 to 83,000 votes. In Patiala, Dr Dharamvira Gandhi emerged victorious with a margin of 14,831 votes.
Sher Singh Ghubaya’s success in Ferozepur was marked by the narrowest margin among all Congress candidates, winning by a mere 3,242 votes.
Here is the list of all winning candidates

In the recent elections, Congress successfully re-nominated Gurjeet Singh Aujla from Amritsar and Amar Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib, both of whom emerged victorious. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) fielded Harsimrat Kaur Badal from Bathinda, who also secured a win.

However, Simranjeet Singh Mann of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), contesting from Sangrur, faced defeat at the hands of AAP’s Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. Preneet, who had previously won the Patiala seat on a Congress ticket in 2019, lost to Congress’s Dr Dharamvir Gandhi by a margin of 14,831 votes. Similarly, Bittu was defeated by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring by 20,942 votes.
Rinku, the winner from Jalandhar in the bypoll, suffered a loss to former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi by a significant margin of 1.76 lakh votes. Mann, who had defeated the AAP candidate in the 2022 Sangrur bypoll, lost the seat to Hayer by 1.73 lakh votes. Aujla and Amar Singh managed to replicate their 2019 success, securing their seats by 40,146 and 34,202 votes, respectively. Harsimrat Kaur Badal successfully defended her Bathinda seat, defeating Gurmeet Singh Khudian of AAP by a margin of 52,584 votes.
